Transfer News (April 8, 2013)

So I will actually be staying in this area the full transfer. Elder Sua's companion got reassigned to Washington so will be here in about 4 weeks. There are some sisters who do not have their companions so they are covering two areas. It has been a bit hectic across the mission, but next transfer it should all be fixed. I am really going to laugh if next transfer I do not end up in Mellville.

It has been a good week. We are still trying to visit all of the members, but we are getting close to visiting all of them. We have also been doing lots of finding to try to get our teaching pool up. Mostly through tracting and talking to everyone we see on the street. We are getting some potential investigators, and we hope we will be able to turn them into investigators this week. The ward is really good, they want to help us and feed us. While it is good that they want to help us teach, now we just need to have them help us find people to teach. We have zone conference this week and President Lindsay said that it will be on the topic of getting members involved. With so many more missionaries in our mission and around the world, it will be up to the members to help us out. I am excited to learn about it and use what we learn, because this should be a great ward to use it in.

I am excited to see General Conference this weekend, I really appreciate it a lot more as a missionary than I did before. Hopefully this will be an eventful week so I will have heaps to write about next week.

Surprise Transfer (April 3, 2013)

I did not forget you all, today was our P-day because Monday was a holiday. I am actually not in my new area yet. I am in Greenwood for now, still in North Coast Zone. Not all of the new missionaries got their visas. My companion is going to be training but his new companion is still in the US. They put me with him until his new companion comes because I was in a three way. They just forgot to tell me until I got to the transfer meeting so it was a big surprise. I have no idea how long I will be in this area, but the ward is great. I don't know where the two Elders are who I'm supposed to be with in the new area so I do not even know if anyone is in that area now. It is a little weird not knowing how long I will be here. It is a ward that I did want to serve in, but for a little longer than a week or two. I also gave a talk on Sunday. Funny enough it was my first talk on my mission. I leaned not to visit members of the bishopric's houses before a Sunday, and then tell them I will only be here for a week or two. I think by next week I should be in my new area, but I have no idea. I might call my assistants some time and see if they know anything. My trainer is an assistant now which is really cool. Everyone thinks it is really funny that I am still in the same zone after almost 8 months. Maybe someday I will get away. I have also figured out that I have served in 3 of the wards out of five in the zone, and if you count exchanges I have been in all of them. So lots of uncertainty at the moment, but I am enjoying the new area. It is a bit slow because we only have one investigator, all of them were dropped in the last couple of weeks. So we have been going around and visiting all of the members which has been good because I know some of them because I have been in the stake for so long. Well I only have 15 minutes today because I did not receive a letter of residency for this area so I cannot use a normal computer. Talk to you in a little less than a week.
